About the event
Are you curious about reflective writing practices? Is your journal collecting dust, or do you feel overwhelmed and don’t know what to write? Do you find yourself repeating old patterns and don’t understand why or where they’ve come from?
In this workshop we will explore the power of “time travel” by using personal old photographs as our muse. In 2019, I stumbled across a file of old family photographs taken by my father, and inspiration tugged at me. I found myself writing potent and reflective entries in my journal as I allowed myself to connect with the images. As a result, I wrote a series of ten essays, which I published called Saturday Snapshot Stories. As I began to use these reflective writing practices, it brought me gifts of connection, healing and a shift in my perspective.
Our pasts hold the key to our future selves. The stories we have lived, as well as the collective history of our ancestors, are interwoven into our present-day selves. We are our stories. A collection of what was before us and what is in the now moment. When we tap into our younger selves and the circles that made us, it offers us clarity, compassion and vision.
In this stepping-stone class where we will explore reflective writing and how to use this sacred practice in your life.
