Intro to Nichiren Buddhism

Do you know that you can change your environment by changing yourself?  In this class, participants will be introduced to the powerful chant~ Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.  By practicing this chant, you will soon see how you can reflect upon and fulfill your dreams and your deepest wishes as well as experience a genuine connection to the universe. You will also gain the wisdom and life force to meet any challenge or difficulty, creating a life of harmony, joy and confidence.

During this 90-minute class, you will learn a brief history of the Lotus Sutra spanning from Shakyamuni to Nichiren Daishonin.  You will also learn about the Ten Worlds, karma, the workings of cause and effect in one's life and the Buddhist view of death.  We will begin and end the class with chanting together.   You may find The Buddha in Your Mirror (amazon.com) a useful guide but is not required.
